What a great Art Week!
We had two assemblies where children brought their sketchbooks to take part in hand art. Year 6 joined the EYFS and KS1 assembly and we were proud to see them being so caring and supporting Nursery and Reception children. The assembly theme was ‘I am an Artist’ and we loved listening to the story and expressing our creative thinking skills. We also watched glass blowing and we were all amazed by this! Pupils also got creative with making shapes from natural materials they could find. A group of children from year 1 to year 6 took part in an exciting art workshop run by Becky from Art-K Maidstone . The children learnt about the abstract artist, Gillian Ayres and then created their own abstract art inspired by her. Everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed creating some amazing pieces of original art. All students loved the activities throughout the week, learning different styles of art as well as learning about different artists.
