We are extremely excited to be welcoming our new council members.
Here at Oaks, we actively promote pupil voice and involvement and our School Council plays a key role in helping us to make improvements to the Academy. Our Council meets regularly to discuss key items and these are then shared with classes. Pupils can also talk to their Class School Council members about any matters which can then be taken back to the School Council meetings.
This academic year, pupils who were interested in becoming part of the Pupil Leadership team presented to their class as to why their peers should vote for them. Candidates focused on the IB Learner Profile Attributes which they would bring to the role and the difference that they will make to pupils and the school. All children spoke passionately to their peers.
Well done to all pupils who put themselves forward for this – they were all great communicators and risk-takers!

The Pupil Leadership Team are keen to build on the work of last year’s team, especially when it comes to our outdoor environment. An initiative that pupils are already working on is the addition of a ‘Buddy Bench’ to support others during social times. We are proud of this inclusive initiative from our pupil leadership team.
